    Welcome to my new blog!

Welcome to the “next generation” NFCA Web site.  We’ve created an entirely new site based on the feedback, suggestions, and demands of members like you.  I hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore the site, see what it has to offer, and take advantage of its many new features.

No doubt the first thing you’ll notice is the “look” of the site.  Since the Web is by far the most popular way our key audiences – member societies, public policymakers, opinion leaders in the news media, and current and prospective fraternalists – access information about NFCA, we thought the Web site needed to do a more effective job of letting folks know who we are and what we do.  We’ve tried to accomplish that with the rotating series of key words and photos that not only catch your eye but tell our story.

We also think the information on the site is better organized and easier to locate.  If you can’t find what you’re looking for with a couple of mouse clicks, let us know.  We want to make sure we’re making the information you need available to you in a way that you can access easily.

In my individual meetings with members over the past six months, as well as in responses to surveys and questionnaires from the association, you told us overwhelmingly that “networking” was one of the most benefits you received from their NFCA membership.  That’s why we made the new NFCA Web site more interactive – starting with my new blog.  Members can now respond directly to the ideas, comments, and random thoughts that I will share in these periodic postings.  I hope this will open the door to more two-way communication between us and result in NFCA being more responsive to your needs.  I urge you to post your comments on my blog and let me know when you think NFCA is doing something right, and where we need to improve.

More important that the blog, however, is the social network we’ve created for members – sort of a “Fraternal Facebook.”  The NFCA social network allows members to communicate on a 24/7/365 basis.  You can join several groups – organized by Sections – and ask them for feedback on ideas or programs that your society may be considering.  You can also talk about products, services, and programs that are working well for you and that may work for other NFCA members.  The heart of fraternalism is networking. The NFCA network is intended to foster information sharing among member societies.  Please test this new service and let us know how it’s working for you.

We’ve got many more features to add to the site – a product and service page, a preferred vendor feature, and a listing of NFCA’s associate members and sponsors, to name just a few – and we’ll be rolling those out in the coming months.  In the meantime, though, we’d like to know what you think of the new site and what suggestions you have for ways to improve it.  Post your comments and suggestions by following the directions below.

    1. Joe,
This is a great communication tool. Hope you receive some good (helpful/constructive) comments from a broad spectrum of our members/societies.
