We’re Off to a Great Start

They sure know the meaning of hospitality here at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa!  After beginning the morning with a bountiful breakfast spread, meeting attendees entered the Conference Center’s impressive Great Hall to the jazz stylings of the Ben Pernick Trio from the University of Miami.

I had the honor of introducing my father, Joe Gadbois, Alliance Chair of the Board, who kicked things off.  Following his report, we had the privilege to hear leadership expert John Maxwell, who has sold over 21 million books, share some of his ideas on what makes a successful leader.  Maxwell quickly engaged the audience with his sense of humor, including my favorite joke, “Grandchildren are God’s gift to you for not killing your children.”

Before delving into his enlightening leadership techniques, Maxwell sincerely applauded the wonderful work that fraternals do and shared his enthusiasm for being here with us today, stating, “You are good people.  You are making your life count.”
After his presentation on the Five Levels of Leadership, attendees commented that they learned a lot and were looking forward to implementing Maxwell’s strategies when they return to their own respective societies.  Maxwell provided listeners with a new energy that will carry them forward in reaching individual goals.

Make sure to check in later for a recap of the heartwarming Fraternalist of the Year and Fraternal FIC of the Year presentations.
