What is hip?

Podcasts are hip.  And the Alliance is hip.  So what do you get when you combine podcasts and the Alliance?

Something very hip.
ap-banner-ccPodcasts are the latest way for the Alliance to get important information to members in an easily accessible way.  They are recorded conversations – some informal, roundtable discussions and others more formal interviews – with member society representatives (CEOs, fraternal directors, investment professionals, etc.), consultants, and subject matter experts on topics important to fraternal leaders.  Most podcasts are under 30 minutes, so you can listen to them on your commute, over lunch, or whenever you need a break during the day.

Now, I’m not saying that Alliance podcasts are as compelling as the wildly popular “Serial.”  But if you’re interested in learning more about alternatives to mergers, ways to engage more members in community service activities, or recruiting younger employees to your society, then Alliance podcasts are for you.

Alliance podcasts are free and they are easy to access.  Just visit the Alliance Podcast page on our website. There is no set schedule for distribution of these podcasts because that wouldn’t be at all hip.  We just do them when the mood – or a great idea – strikes us.  And if you’ve got a great idea for a topic or a speaker, we’d love to hear it.  Just post a comment here or send me a private email at jannotti@fraternalalliance.org.

And finally, after you’ve listened to one of the podcasts, we hope you’ll let us know what you think of them through email or a discussion on our social community.

Bald is hip, too…

It’s H-minus four days until lift off.  The “H” stands for hair (mine) and the four days means that on Friday, March 18, it will be lifted off my head.  It’s all for a terrific cause – to raise money for children’s cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  Thanks to those fraternalists who have pledged their support for the second consecutive year.  And if you’re still interested in helping out, it’s not too late to do so.   Just click here.

I’ll post before and after photos next week.  Until then, best wishes for a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), St. Baldrick’s Day (March 18) and – most important – St. Joseph’s Day (March 19)!

  1. I am way too old to be hip but i have done radio all over the world trained by the best, even the BBC… Just two things as i used to say on the radio, just let this sit on your head for awhile”

Just call it a internet radio show … and make it a show … I can virtually guarantee you that hardly anyone in the podcast has had any training in how to do radio and do a radio program … it is the proverbial, well I can talk so what s so hard about this. i would suggest you consider some of my offering on how to be a internet radio broadcaster … here is alit test …Can you tell me what the AIDDA formula is for radio programming and sales?

    all the best,
